Wilfredo Vázquez, Jr. was born on June 18, 1984 in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. He is the son of former three-division world champion Wilfredo Vázquez and older brother of Israel Vázquez. Vázquez is married to Jackelyn Román, with whom he has three children. At first, he began studies in law, but abandoned them to pursue a professional boxing career to provide income for his family.

Professional Career
     He started boxing by the age of 21 under his father's supervision, learning the basics and fundamentals of boxing. Wilfredo Vázquez Jr. debuted as a professional boxer on December 18, 2006 in Kissimmee Civic Center, Kissimmee, Florida, United States. He fought against Octavius Davis, Vázquez won the fight by knockout in the first round. Only less that 2 months from his professional debut fight he fought Daniel Lorenzana on February 23, 2007. Which he won by Unanimous Decision (UD). After a month of rest he fought again on March 23, 2007 with Danny Esquivel. Less than a month he fought Juan Camacho on April 20, 2007. From the time of his 1st professional boxing career fight (which is December 18, 2006) up to October 29, 2011 he already fought 23 times. That is 23 fights in 5 years.
    On September 12, 2008 he won his first title the Interim WBO (World Boxing Organization) Latino Super Bantamweight Title when he defeated Adolfo Landeros of Mexico via Technical Knockout on the 8th round. The match took place at Civic Center, Kissimmee, Florida, United States same place where he had his first match as a professional boxer.
    He suffered his first defeat on the hands of Jorge Arce of Mexico via Technical Knockout on May 7, 2011 at MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
