There are several Boxing Stance used by boxers. I listed and explained the commonly used by boxers and they are:
Orthodox Stance – The most common stance in boxing, it is mostly used by right-handed boxers. The boxer stands with legs roughly shoulder-width apart. The back foot is about half a step behind your front foot. An Orthodox stance is a way of positioning both the feet and hands in combat sports such as boxing, karate and mixed martial arts. A traditional orthodox stance is one in which the boxer places his or her left foot farther in front of the right foot, thus having his or her 'weaker' side closer to the opponent. As it favors the stronger, dominant side — often the right side. Many boxing champions, such as Marco Antonio Barrera, Rocky Marciano, Muhammad Ali (real name Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr.), Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Joe Frazier, Floyd Mayweather Jr and Sugar Ray Robinson used an orthodox stance.
Southpaw Stance - The stance commonly adopted by a left-handed fighter. In this stance, boxer positions their right foot forward and left hand behind their right hand. A southpaw boxer guards and jabs with his right-hand. Many believe that southpaw boxers have an advantage over orthodox boxers since their punches come from unexpected angles. On the other hand, southpaw boxers are often left vulnerable to an opponent’s straight right hand. Some famous boxers who use southpaw are Marvin 'Marvelous' Hagler, Sultan Ibragimov, Naseem Hamed, Joe Calzaghe, and Manny Pacquiao. In the fiction movie “Rocky” acted by Sylvester Stallone, as Rocky Balboa (Robert "Rocky" Balboa, Sr.) was traditionally a southpaw, however switching to an orthodox stance to confuse his opponent at times.
